Self-Service to the next Level 

Liquit continues to build on our simple philosophy that IT should be as easy as water from the tap. We strive to deliver just that: make application management simple and reliable. We want to keep end-users happy and productive and free up the IT team from time consuming tasks.  

We are happy that this new release delivers several new features that help further the synergy between end-users and IT teams. We have put in great effort to make your end-user more self-reliant, and your IT team freed from tasks that end-users can often manage themselves. Self Service is the keyword to describe this release.   

Catalog Enhancements 

Liquit customers have been enjoying the benefits of an application catalog since day one. It has always been there to allow the end-user easy access to applications needed to get the job done. In this release, we have added these great features to the catalog.  

Featured applications in New Home Screen 

A new home screen has been introduced to the catalog. This home screen now shows featured catalog items in the categories available.  

We have made it possible for IT to mark packages as featured to highlight them in the user catalog.  

Trending and Popular applications 

Applications that are used most will now be shown as trending and popular applications, in the end-user’s catalog. The system will automatically manage the lists based on application usage within the organization.

Media support for applications in the Setup Store  

It is possible to add applications to the list of featured applications. This allows for IT managers to promote new software to end-users and boost the adoption rate of new applications. Applications from the Setup Store are provided with detailed information like descriptions and excerpts pertaining to the application. One less thing your application manager needs to worry about.  

Support for Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022 

Important to mention is that we provide full support for Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022. Not only does our Liquit agent run on the new versions, but our software can also now detect these new Windows versions. This is especially useful for our context aware functionalities.

An Overview of all other features and updates introduced in this release

Control access to federated applications based on context (IDP) 

Federation is an important process designed to authenticate users in a single sign-on way. In some scenarios it may be needed to control who can or cannot access certain federated applications, to increase (context-aware) security. We have now made it possible to restrict access to service providers or client based on a filter or script.  

Language features 

Here is an overview of features based on language of device and/or user. 

  • We have created a filter that can be applied to a context based on language of the platform that is installed on the device. This allows administrators to group devices based on OS language. 
  • New filters can be used for packages that allow package availability or actions to be filtered out based on the user’s configured language of the UI within the OS. 
  • A filter is available for packages that allow package availability or actions to be filtered out based on the language of the OS.  
  • And new is a filter that can be applied to a context based on the user’s configured language of the UI within the OS. This allows administrators to assign packages on a context by user’s configured language. 

Network Change Event 

This is a brand-new feature that is the result of a customer request. The request was to create a network change event (like logging in or shutting down). There are many use cases for this feature. As an example, the user is connecting to a VPN. This then triggers an action in Liquit to launch a package for example printer or drive mappings.  

Catalog information via context menu 

We made it simpler to view the catalog information for applications by adding a new option to the application context menu within the workspace. 

Force configuration override option for the Agent MSI installation 

To help manage Microsoft Intune deployments, we have made it possible to ignore an existing agent configuration. We now offer an optional OVERRIDE_CONFIG option in the Agent MSI installation. When configured, it will automatically ignore any existing Agent.xml from previous installations. 

Device Information 

Information is important. We have added more information about a device in the device overview. Think for example about version number of the OS, processor architecture, primary language that is installed or configured of the OS.  

In addition, we have added the platform language in the device inventory. This allows you to see which language of the OS is installed on the device. 

All of this should make it easier for the IT team to determine the language in which an update or deployment needs to be done.  

Local user session information 

We are displaying more information about a user’s local session. This includes information like session ID, language, and the remote IP address if the user is logged in from a remote client. This information is available via the diagnostics screen for the current user under the ‘Session’ page at the device overview.  

Administrators can view all local user session information on devices that are logged in to Liquit under the ‘Logged on’ page at the device overview. This will proof valuable for administrators when troubleshooting.  

“Agent available” filter for packages 

This is a simple filter that allows to check whether a package or an action within in a package should only be executed on a device with the Liquit agent installed. 

Extended support for filtering on Windows versions 

Allow distinct filtering based on server or client versions of Windows, a list of all predefined Windows 10 and Windows Server versions that are publicly available have been added as filter options. 

This allows system administrators to have different configurations for applications to be deployed based on the type of target device: server or desktop OS. It also makes it possible to apply changes or updates based on a specific version of Windows 10 (like 2004, 20H2…).
